Fajr is built to help Muslims track prayer times, read the Quran, perform athkar, and find nearby masjids. This policy explains what data the app accesses, why, and how it is handled.
Data We Collect
Fajr does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers. All preferences โ including theme, language, selected masjid, iqama times, and notification settings โ are stored only on your device using local storage.
Location
The app requests access to your precise location while in use for two purposes:
- Calculating accurate prayer times for your geographic coordinates
- Finding nearby masjids in your area
Your location is sent directly to the Aladhan API and the Google Places API over HTTPS. It is never stored by us or shared with any other party.
Notifications
All notifications are local only โ generated entirely on your device and never routed through external servers. You can enable or disable each type individually in Settings:
- Adhan alerts
- 30-minute pre-prayer reminders
- Morning, evening, after-prayer, and sleep athkar reminders
Third-Party Services
The app communicates with these external APIs to provide its core features:
Each service operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.
Compass & Motion Sensor
The app accesses your device's compass sensor to display the Qibla direction. This data is used in real time on your device and is never transmitted or stored.
Audio Playback
Quran recitations are streamed from the Islamic Network CDN. No personal data is included in these requests beyond standard HTTP headers (IP address, device type), which are handled by the CDN provider.
Children's Privacy
Fajr does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app contains no advertising, no in-app purchases, and no account registration.
